Check out the number of woman getting elected to political office!  Look at the number of Latinos getting elected to public office.  Tonight, the first openly gay person was elected to political office. 


The country is moving more toward the center/left on social issues.  That is the undoing of the GOP message. that is why their message is falling on deaf ears.

 It really is a simple thing.  Jeep rather than increasing production and creating jobs in the US, will be taking that expansion outside thge US.  Is it their right to do so?  Yes.  Is it good for America?  No.

What is surprising (right now) is that Obama has--all be it--a tiny lead in Florida.  I thought Rromney was up by 4-6 points in the last couple of polls?

Obama's acceptance speech ?  Yeah, it was good- not great.  The last 10 seconds were better than the entire rest of it.  A lot of hot air is what I thought, but he was impassioned and charismatic.  In this day and age, I'd say it was about a B+

Romney's was a good concession speech too.  No vindictiveness or elicitation of sympathy from the crowd.  No mention of the country's challenges and what his side needs to do.  He did give what seemed like an honest congratulation and well-wish for the president.  Worth about a B-.

I'm not trying to kill it.  I'm not the one who engages in such actions.  I merely pointed out that the purpose has ended and that I declared it dead.  Like maggots on a dead dog, it will sink in eventually, to Pops and to Bsting alike.  Maybe even you.

Remember how Clinton's second term became about trying to impeach Clinton.  The only thing Republicans seem to want to do is get power and money for themselves and for their big donors and "stop" any democrats in power.  Helping the American people is not something they ever want to do. Why would they want to help their "subjects"?

I hope I am wrong about this but we will see more of the same from the republicans.  We will also see little to no statements from Toyota, Rsx Fan, etc. on here about what it is about their perspectives that need to change, what it is that the Romney campaign did wrong, what Republicans did wrong in the house/senate leading up to the election that led to this.  We will instead see a bunch of statements about how there are a lot of dumb people in this country that are being fooled.  No looking in the mirror will occur with any of them.  I hope I am wrong about this but I doubt it.  

As far as the republican party, it will be the same thing.  Instead of moving more to the center, they will continue will assume that they were not conservative* enough and move more and more to the right.  They just need to lie more, get more Draconian about abortion and social policies, ignore science, math, and other forms of reality even harder, put more faith in trickle down, etc. etc.  The last thing they will ever do will be to look in the mirror and admit they are not in step with Americans.  They will be wrong again and their party will become more and more irrelevant.  They better hope that I am wrong on this one.  But again I doubt it.

Republicans will keep trying to stop him.  When they are not in power the only thing they know how to do is try to stop those who are.  

That is just the new America as we know it and with the way the country was trending in 2008 you could say even then that if Obama won this year it wouldn't have been the same margin

He has done a remarkable job though.  The hate PR machine, however did an equally remarkable job (or I guess not quite equally since they lost and thank god)

I hope Obama sees how polarized the country is and doesn't think a re-election is a mandate, especially because a strong GOP candidate could have knocked him off.

Okay but what does this mean?  What does he need to do differently more specifically?  .... Also what do Republicans in the Congress need to do differently?

Anyone can answer these questions but if you only answer about what Obama needs to do differently than your name is likely Rsx fan, Toyota, baddams, gastrapod or devil david.  Those guys vs. the field in this regard is at about -470.

I read Obama told James Carville that the close election tells him he does not have an economic mandate. So far that is one step past Bush in 2004. Let's hope he keeps that word
