Colts Blue Sports Bar

I wondered what happened... I looked for it earlier today and was baffled.

I'm crying foul; server's crashing...really? The fed's explanation of that missle blast off of the California coast was more believable...

anyways, glad the bar is back up and running, I was afraid you closed shop, 13; and that just aint gonna cut it, cause it's the only pub in my neighborhood that I can walk home from without getting mugged.

Yep me too but what can you do? I was really pizzed when they emailed me that they decided that there was nothing that they could do. Maybe they need to hire some new programmers.Like Maxwell Smart used to say "I missed it by that much" telling CBS to where shove their site but I like the people who come in here and I enjoy talking with fellow Colts fans, friends so I decided to try it again. I'm glad I did.

It's official, the Colts have like we all expected tagged Peyton Manning with the franchise tag. With the franchise tag he is slated to make 23 million and change next year if the franchise tag holds up. Everything that I'm hearing is that nobody can agree on anything at this point. I sure hope that we don't miss any games this season. Scary, they may be out a long time.

I guess that I still got the Pacers who got much better by giving O'brien the (long over due) boot along with my Reds but football is number one!

I was wondering why when I looked at the bar there wasn't a last page to click on. Here's to hoping that something gets worked out so that no games are missed, I don't know what I'm going to do if it's football season and there's no football. At least for baseball, it looks like my A's are headed in the right direction.

Hey Ad, my wife and I went to see Sam Kinison at the Indiana Sports Arena in Indy along with some friends not too long before he died. He also did the phone call that night from the stage and your right, it was funnier than h3ll. There will never be another like Sam Kinison. He is missed!

Hey guys...saw this story on Sportscenter and I thought I would run it by.  It's about the NFL and the NFLPA.

The NFL and the NFL Players Association have agreed to federal mediation starting Friday in Washington D.C.

The two sides will meet with mediator George H. Cohen, who helped settle the MLS labor dispute. It's a positive step in that both sides are open to a third party helping to solve major issues. The process often works as a face-saving measure. The bottom line, however, is that there is nothing binding about the process and a new CBA can only be reached through collective bargaining. The mediator is essentially playing the role of marriage counselor.

Can't we all just get along?

Too bad about the old bar colts13, I'm sure this one will be just as solid. I saw that about the mediator and laughed where I work they are currently bringing in the same thing to get a new CBA for us signed, hopefully it works better for the NFL than I think it will for us. I wonder what the hold up is with getting Manning signed? The most money in history isn't making the pen move? Or is it more an issue of years on the contract? Cheers.

I saw Jim Irsay on the news say the offer on the table for Peyton Manning is for five or six years. He said that he is willing to pay Peyton top dollars as long as he is able play well. He also said that he wasn't too concerned on whether the contract got done before March 3. He sounds mighty confident about it I just hope he's right.

Hey Diss I can't believe I was allowed to use my old account I thought I was banned for life but apparently not. I ended up seeing my old name on a post and clicked it and seen it was still active so I reset my password and voila I was back, only thing they did was give me a bunch of warnings and such which is shocking because through the help section I told the guy I was corresponding with that him and every moderator on the site could kiss my ass in great detail, apparently they knocked me down to rookie temperarily but I didn't even notice as I wasn't trying to use my account thinking it was toast, still not sure why my old password stopped working though. But anywho good to see ya buddy, atleast I have a back up account already made incase I get caught up with these bone heads again.

That sounds like good news 13 I hope they get it done sooner than later. Hopefully this week long meeting with the nfl and nflpa amount to some solid movement in the right direction as well. No football next year and the possibility of a home superbowl appearance for the Colts out the window would be a huge shame. Cheers.

Gentlemen and Germs, Ladies and "Herms" raise a glass in salute to the newly and dearly departed Bob Sanders who was released today. Talk about a man who could play football. My God, the man could hit! If ever there was a defensive player that I would want all present and future Colt players to watch film on, it would be Sanders. He's partly the reason why Bethea and Bullitt are as good as they are.

Bullett Bob, you will be missed!

Agreed 13 and Kappa...Bob Sanders was an absolute beast when he was in there.  He was always around the ball.  He came up with a lot of big plays as a Colt.  The problem was that he was often injured, which shortened his time in a Colts uniform.  Sanders will be missed by the Colts and he will be a big addition to another team.

What my fear is…the Steelers! A Troy Polomalu and Bob Sanders combo would be DEADLY and further solidify the defense in Pittsburgh.

 

As an interesting side story, I was following the Super Bowl on CBS Gametracker, and you know how at the bottom of the page you can comment on the game in real time? I ran into a user by the name of Patsrule213. Remember guys? Around the time the bar first opened, he was putting polls on our message boards such as “Do the Colts always choke?”, and the answers were always “Yes” and “Not no”. Well, I went ahead and asked him if he was the same guy (rhetorical question, it was obviously the same guy…he had the same user name!). He said, “Maybe, but if it was, I’ve changed since then”. He seemed very civil and nice. So, gentlemen, when a person hits puberty, it seems that they can actually realize the error of their ways! Nice to know, huh?

Getting back to football and Sanders, If the Barkeeper was correct and he has entered into serious negotiations with the Jags, I can't say that I didn't see it coming. As I mentioned in an earlier post: "Anybody but the Patriots" and I meant that. If it has to be the Jaguars, then so be it. I STILL wish him all the best in the world. He is an excellent ballplayer and if they give him what some would believe is an outragiously high sum to play for them, there is no doubt in my mind that he will do his level best to honor the terms of the contract. Jusr like he did when he was here. There is no dog in the man. None whatsoever.......

Regarding Patsrule......Anyone can change, I suppose, but lets see if he steps up and comes to the bar in the same frame of mind. That will tell the tale. Until then, Denny Green's words ring true.

Speaking of the bar, I had a heck of a time finding my way here. When I saw that the old CBLSB was burned down, I freaked out, if it weren’t for a nice passerby (colts13) telling me where to go. This place is nice, but I think Kappa’s pictures of his mother were left in the old one.

As much as I understand the reasoning behind such a personnel move, I really hate to see the man go. I've read a number of posts from Stampede Blue to CBS postings by fans of other teams. Nobody has had a bad word to say about Sanders and everybody appreciates what he brought to the table. BSF, should he switch teams, keep the same avatar to remind some Colt fans who were so ready and willing to boot him just how great a player he was when he was with us. As one person said, just as Rodney Harrison was cast away from the Chargers and went on to further fame with the Patriots, there's no reason why Sanders can't do the same. 

Please Bob, as Colts13 says, have a heart and steer clear of the AFC South and the Patriots. Just thinking about him crashing into Dal Clark or collaring Collie has me wincing already. We all know that revenge is best served ice cold. I just hope Sanders doesn't secretly harbor any ill-will. It could be disastrous.
