The Pac-12 Thread....

DK,

Knapp is a WR who never say the light of day. Regarding the RS JR Class, I'm not convinced all the RS JR's are leaving Stanford. A few of them will stay to improve their draft prospects just like Chase Thomas in 2012. Until they receive the ratings back from the NFL Commitee some are still undecided. My thoughts on which ones are undecided:

Offense

Danser He is a 1 yr starter. Now he is the least needed of this group as everyone expects J. Garnett the 5* OG from WA to win the starting job this spring
Hewitt FB's are never drafted high so he may come back especially if offered the chance to play TE. This would improve his NFL stock
Toilolo He needs to improve his pass catching abilities. He just does not adjust to the ball well enough to be a second day pick.

Defense
Skov He still does not have the explosion back so he's probably a 3rd pick. He may come back. I put it at 40%.
T. Murphy He'll decide based on NFL Rating. If it's not till the 3rd day he may come back. I put it at 40%
B. Gardner  Same as Murphy. NFL Rating will be a key factor.

If all three of these defensive players return and we can get just a little support from the WR's we will be in the NCG discussion. Even if the 3 defensive players do not return I think we have enought talent that I expect no drop off by the time we get to the meat of the 2013 schedule.

My biggest concern is at Center. Is Shuler the 4* from TENN ready?

One more thought. This year Alex Carter was the FR who had the biggest impact. Who will it be in 2013? I hope it is Francis Owusa but my head tells me it will be Peter Kalambayi. Peter like Alex already has a D1 type body and should be a real force by the second half of next season. Have you seen Peter's highlight film from the NC State CG? He was dominate.

WhiteMamba,

Knapp's ST contribution may be true, I was referring to his impact at WR. Regarding ST, I would expect Stanford's  two 2012 FR Safeties to fulfill that role. Both Hoffpauir and Madhu played well on ST's as the season progressed. Since Reynolds and Richards have locked down the two starting safety positions it is where Hoffpauir and Madhu will make their mark in 2013 not that they won't see some action in some defensive schemes.
