Well now I don't read that daily newsI Know a Little -- Lynyrd Skynyrd
'Cause it ain't hard to figure
Where people get the blues
They can't dig what they can't use
If they stick to themselves
They'd be much less abused

Now If I'm decyphering my own MaryJane impaired handwriting correctly, this tune was number 19 on the Saturday night of December 15th.
I've used a few songs of that night on this "Know or Knew" theme run (and I say that we now expand the theme to include "No and New" also) I meant to use this song three weeks ago, better late than never: Gold coast slave ship bound for cotton fields Sold in a market down in New Orleans Scarred old slaver knows he's doing alright Hear him with the women just around midnight |

Seventy-three men sailed up from the San Francisco BayRide Captain Ride -- Blues Images and Blood, Sweat and Tears Great tune, I have that by Blues Images on a double vinyl record compilation from the early 70's called 'Heavy Metal' and of all the songs on that compilation album only "Ironman" by Black Sabbath was really a heavy metal song. |

She's been lookin' like a queen in a sailor's dream
And she don't always say what she really means Sometimes I think it's a shame When I get feelin' better when I'm feelin' no pain Sometimes I think it's a shame When I get feelin' better when I'm feelin' no pain |

She's been lookin' like a queen in a sailor's dreamSundown -- Gordon Lightfoot One of Canada's finest songwriters...ever. And so is this next Canadian artist: And the women all were beautiful And the men stood Straight and strong They offered life in sacrifice So that others could go on. Hate was just a legend And war was never known The people worked together And they lifted many stones. |

Change it had to comeWon't Get Fooled Again -- The Who No need to look up that instantly recognized classic Originally recorded by the band "Them", this song has added lyrics performed between 1968 and 1970. I'm using this particular version's lyrics from a performance on 7/22/69 at The Aquarius Theater in Hollywood, CA. (It's also another "baby" double threader) Come on baby Here she is in my room, oh boy Hey what's your name? How old are you? Where'd you go to school? Uh huh, yeah, oh yeah, huh Well, now that we know each other a little bit better, Why don't you come over here and make me feel all right! |

You know I can be found, Sitting home all alone, If you can't come around, At least please telephone. |
