App State is FCS and doesn't have the capability of moving up to FBS. Interestingly, they average about 30K fans a year to their games and during game day, the city is gridlocked with traffic. Boone doesn't have the road infrastructure to handle any more fans. In addition, during the games, there are some residents of Boone that have to go without water. Moving up to FBS and attracting more fans during the game would make that issue much worse.
For these reasons, ASU has chosen to remain FCS and it doesn't appear likely they will ever move up. Even though they average more fans at home games than roughly 40% of the current FBS teams. |

Just re-read that...ASU averages 30K fans per game. Sorry.

Good information, but I must point out that the contest includes the FCS Championship game, so a precedent is established.
Appy State can move up to FBS any time they meet the established criteria. 5,000 per game in attendance meets one of those criteria. Gridlock is not addressed by NCAA. YMTC is a contest and we can include any teams we wish, even Division II or III or NAIA or whatever. Appy State was included just to spur conversation like this. My first choice would be Navy. |

How about Central Michigan???
|

YTMC 2013January 9, 2013 2:15 pm
Central Michigan could be added, but are you sure you would want to increase the Spartan bias? Dan Enos is the HC of CMU.
If this is not a rag but rather a legitimate suggestion, ok. |

I'll vote for Navy.

Any of the hometown MAC's are cool...EMU, CMU, WMU. IMHO!
App State is just a straight up jab chief. |

meh...drop ND and their magnificent hype machine...add Georgia Tech and Virginia (the next two B1G adds.)Actually, I considered dropping ND much the same as they dropped UM. That WILL happen in the 2014 version and I am still considering it for 2013. Apparently there is enough interest to increasing the base contest to 16 teams that this will happen. GA Tech and UVA are good choices, although it is not perfectly clear they will be the next B1G Ten realignment conquests. Navy, too, receives favorable consideration. |

Home State MACs. Ok. But, perhaps, including the southern sister MAC schools, Miami, Toledo, Akron, Ohio U., Bowling Green State should be considered. Question is, which of EMU, CMU, WMU (leaving out the Ohio schools)?
I guess the point I am circling is the unintended favoritixm of choosing only one of them. This looks like, "If you give a mouse a cookie..." |

UM is 7-5 in the past 12.
It would be 6-6 except for 2 points and 7 seconds. |

76? YMTC 2013 should be structured as you see fit...and as you are able to comfortably manage. |

76? YMTC 2013 should be structured as you see fit...and as you are able to comfortably manage.Eggzackititly. It says so right thar in the rules, too! Then again, nothing says I can't solicit inputs. Kalapaki Joes already has a cold Longboard set up for me. Be jealous, my friends. The color of jealousy is GREEN! Green also = monkey vomit guts. |

You really do have a man crush on "Spartan Bob."
As pointed out time and again, that was reviewed closely by the B1G Ten and found that there was no error in the time keeping. You don't accept those findings. So be it. Your opinion does not change reality. |

You really do have a man crush on "Spartan Bob." Scratch that 8-4....Well, the NCAA reveiwed it an ruled that a non-bias person, appointed by the NCAA will handle all score clocks in the NCAA. So...You guys changed the game! Congrats! |

Don, after UofM benefited from the absolute worst call in the history of sports – That first down measurement in the bowl game against South Carolina Wolverine fans should be banned from bringing up past questionable calls forever!

Just my 2 cents, but I vote for throwing ND under the bus and banning them from competing against BIG teams ever again in any sport. We don't need them. I wouldn't mind at least 12 games every week. Once the conf schedule begins, add in MAC, Military Academy, SEC, whatever, but like its been said 76, its your show, your call.

Well, the NCAA reveiwed it an ruled that a non-bias person, appointed by the NCAA will handle all score clocks in the NCAA. So...You guys changed the game! Congrats! As MSU has done many times in the past, too. All positive changes, too. The change was brough on not because dsomething nefarious happened, but because the system in place before the change could be manipulated to the home team's advantage. The B1G Ten and NCAA made a change that helped ensure a level playing field. |

YTMC 2013March 15, 2013 9:28 am
You guys changed the game! Congrats!Spartans have been known to do that and the change was for the better. Even though NCAA and B1G Ten conclusively stated no misconduct happened, they also recognized it could, so the change. Getting a better rule in place is actually a source of pride for the Spartan Nation. State won the game fair and square AND facilitated an improvement that everyone agrees was needed. That is just cool. |

FYI, I am reviewing the suggestions and making my final determination.
I am reluctant to drop ND for 2013 mainly because of the history. In 1937, MSU applied for membership in the Western Conference and due to some underhanded maneuvering by UM was not accepted. In the mid-1940s, MSU reached an agreement with ND that promoted MSU onto the national state. A benefit of the ND agreement was that MSU joined the B1G Ten and was able to do so over the objections and machinations of UM. A lot of MSU football history is coupled with Notre Dame, which is why ND was included in the first year of this. Still... things change and the game changes with the times. Just thought you might appreciate my thoughts on this. Yes, Indy. I know. My choice.

YMTC 2013March 16, 2013 11:35 am
2013 Contestants:
Army Illinois Indiana Iowa Maryland Michigan Michigan State Minnesota Navy Nebraska Northwestern Notre Dame Ohio State Penn State Purdue Rutgers Wisconsin As it turns out, Notre Dame was already in the 2013 data base. Army and Navy were in as well, but had to have a few games added. Maryland and Rutgers were in the system as part of the planning for when they actually start playing, but I had enter their full schedules. All done. Notre Dame is scheduled to be dropped from the contest after the 2013 season for all the reason all of you have posted. Army and Navy will always have at least the Army-Navy Classic to fill that 1 week void. Otherwise they will continue as place holders on expectations that the B1G Ten foolishly adds more teams. The contest is all set-up. All that remains is the pre-season polls and we start up the last week in August. |

App State is just a straight up jab chief.Never was much of a boxer, but apparently that jab caught you on the chin. ![]() Yes, there was a bit of humor considered, but with a very real purpose. I could have easily suggested Sam Houston State to make the point, but that would have been lost on the majority. The point is, a FCS team that has been successful in recent times can be considered, especially one with notoriety. |

Any thoughts for a 16th? You have to consider the Razorbacks! But seriously I would suggest Army, Navy and Air Force and make it 18 teams. BYU would be a good choice since they are Independent. Looking forward to playing again this year. |
