How does Wisconsin only play IU and Michigan each only one time in the Big Ten conference?  They can win the conference simply by their schedule.

I do have one issue and continues to be a theme is how bad Cody gets beat up inside and leterally no calls. This is big ten baskeball well understood but it is getting bad. Than I see touch fouls that get called on shooters makes no sense.

Horrible game vs. Wisconsin this team is having major problems down the stretch making big shots. On the other side come on this kids continue to hit big shot after big shot with clock going down to 0. Some of the shots were well guarded and very low percentage.

on to Northwestern...

they beat a downward-spiraling Illini team in Champagne this week,
and that's about all their resume has...

they do have UofL transfer Jared Swopshire, and he's solid,
but the Hoosiers have to humble themselves and take care of this game...

what? did y'all think I wouldn't be back?

pretty much the iowa game all over agian in my opinion, never really felt to me like IU would lose but they let Northwestern back in it, even though they shouldnt have been in it.

the offense is sputturing a bit, but Big Ten road wins are good wins regardless...

what? did y'all think I wouldn't be back?

i dont think its possible to think that dale!

Sheesh....this team is struggling.  Trapping zone D's are coming at 'em the rest of the way.  If they show no improvement against them, it's going to be tough to win the conference.  I was of the opinion that IU had to get to 10-0 in conference based on the schedule to have a good chance at the regular season title and I don't think it's changed....now they're going to have to steal a tough one on the road down the stretch.

believe it or not, I really am focusing on being more positive on these message boards,
because damn it...I'm starting to not even like myself...

but there is something not right with these Hoosiers...
their confidence level is extremely lower than earlier in the year.

IU held NW to 17 1st half points, and allowed 42 in the second...
and it seemend like nobody wanted to step up in the 2nd half and make things happen...

and as undue pointed out, it's really gonna get tough for them real soon.

I would really like to see Crean put Hulls on the bench to start the next few games.  I want Remy and Yogi at the guard spots, I think those 2 together would be better at breaking traps.  I understand that Remy is a PG but Hulls' has been taking some poor shots as of late.  Additionally, why does Crean insist on playing Zeller so high in the post?  Get him down low and get the ball to him for the love of God.  Also what has been wrong with Sheehey that last three games?  I just hope IU finds that same confidence they had the first 10 games of the year and bring it back.  They have all the talent in the world, but somehow they need to harness it.

fortunately for IU, next up is Penn State at home...

nothing cures what ails you like facing the cellar dwellar (that was IU just 3 short years ago) at home.

but there are serious questions for this team...and bombers, you are correct...Sheehey is the biggest
head scratcher of late...

honestly (still trying to be positive)...has there ever been a  freshman class that was as overrated
as this group of freshmen?....except for Yogi. Weren't they #2 or 3 coming in???

there are a lot of questions for sure.  As far as the freshman are concerned you are correct, Hollowell seems like he is day dreaming most of the time he is on the floor, I have heard announcers all year comment on how good he is but I have yet to see it.  Has Jurkin even played more then 10 minutes combined the entire season?  Finally Perrea (sp) seems pretty weak so far, maybe they could get him some minutes with Zeller on the floor.  I think that could open him up for some easy buckets and gain him some confidence.

I haven't given up on them for sure, because I think they're really good.  I think they just really struggle with teams that slow the pace of play.  IU just needs to dictate the pace of play much better and they will be fine.  Anyway, go Hoosiers and sorry for the rant.

IU has no bench players that are good besides Will.  It hurts them against better teams in the conference.

Well, Diss, you're positively correct on this one.  Yogi is the one that was expected to make an immediate impact and he has.  But, I seem to recall a lot of talk about Hollowell and Perea being guys that would see their fair share of time.  Perea for reason's out of his control didn't get the chance to play early, but even since he bacame eligible, he hasn't really looked very good, but he hasn't gotten many minutes either.  I'm afraid Jurkin may not ever log 40 minutes in his career.

State could have put this game away against Wiscy...

how freaking important is it to hit your free throws?

i think we should wait a tad to decide on these freshmen, i mean its not like 2009 when Hulls and Watford and others had no one around them and just played all the time, they need minutes, especially Perea, who is very raw but very athletic, as he was billed coming out of High school. hollowells minutes have droped off a bit after the 3 games he had to sit, but im seeing a strong rebounder and a guy who can get to the basket, he can easily be a Watford type shooter, and i think weve seen glimpes of his shot, i dont know just my opinion i guess...

they need minutes and arent really getting them at the moment, and ya, jurkin may never play 40 mins ever.... so yaa....

i think it always was about Yogi.... I was merely talking down the line a bit, they have so much around them this year they are not seeing the court, and no one but Yogi was expected to start... with Perea missing 9 games and already in need of much developement, ya hes behind schedule quite a bit...and honestly i did expect hollowell to be seeing more minutes but those 3 missed games hurt his growth and his minutes...give him minutes i say

2013/2014 Frosh will overcome this class in a hurry...

O i agree, simply more talent over all, Vonleh alone makes it easy for that class to overcome '12, he is one and done type talent...which none of the 2012 class is even close to being (well maybe yogi, but not quite), but i dont think '12 will end up to poorly as weve seen how the coaching staff can develope players alla Victor and Will... but to call them the most overated class right now that i think is still/should be TBD

no discussion on the PennSTate game?

I agree...nothing to talk about except the officiating....

the officials called 48 fouls in this game...this game wasn't that physical and IU
shot more free throws, so what's the problem???

the problem is that this type of officiating disrupts the flow of the game,
and actually hurts the Hoosiers' game plan....

the more B1G officials continue to call games like the way they did last night,
the greater the obstacle lays if front of IU winning a National Championship...

or any other B1G team...

by the way...when is the last time a B1G won it all???

Spot on with that Dale, all the little hand check fouls make the game hard to watch, in my opinion...its the big ten, come on let em play some

Hoosiers did what they needed to last night, and werent caught looking ahead to this big time strech of games coming up...nice to see Yogi find his shot and for Sheehey to find himself again...

These next five games will probably make or break IU's reg season championship hopes, and should tell alot about were this team will go this season...Hoping for the best

by the way...when is the last time a B1G won it all???

Wow, lot's of comments to sort thru, but first.........OSU 63 Iowa 58 with 1:47 to go.  Go Hawks.

Now, on to the IU comments

I would really like to see Crean put Hulls on the bench to start the next few games.  I want Remy and Yogi at the guard spots, I think those 2 together would be better at breaking traps.

I can't agree with this.  Abell has been as bad as anyone lately...both handling the ball and shooting.  Hulls actually handles the ball fine.  Where he runs into trouble is when he picks up the dribble without a plan....or when he leaves his feet...without a plan.  What I would rather see is Ferrell bringing the ball up against a press.  I suspect Crean continues to have Hulls bring it up because of his FT shooting, but that hasn't been very good this year...he;s missed three in a row at least twice this year.  Makes you long for the days when he was a 95% FT shooter.

what has been wrong with Sheehey that last three games?

He had a pad on his right elbow for a couple of games.  Not sure if that affected him or not, but it was the ywo games he went 0fer, so I assume it did.  He did not have the pad against Northwestern.  Sheehey definitely needs to get back to where he was earlier in the season...he;s the key if you ask me.  He's the guy that can kill defenses with his ability to drive and hit the mid range J.
