The black queen chants the funeral march
The cracked brass bells will ring
To summon back the fire witch

The Court of the Crimson King - King Crimson      excellent choice

At last the sun is shining, The clouds of blue roll by,
With flames from the dragon of darkness, the sunlight [blinds] his eyes.

Trumped!!

At last the sun is shining, The clouds of blue roll by,
With flames from the dragon of darkness, the sunlight [blinds] his eyes.
Battle of Evermore - Led Zeppelin

A much better song than that other well known ballad from the same album, IMO.

As a bonus,I didn't have to google either Clean's or Packerz' lyrics.

I'll stick with my last lyrics.

Damn It! I play hooky for one day away from here and I miss John Hiatt Day! Serves me right for actually getting some work done.

Thought I saw your face in the fire
But it's so hard to remember
Even an inferno can cool down to an ember

80's Hottie girl group and the lead singer is still smokin' hot:

Say my name sun shines through the rain
A whole life so lonely
And then you come and ease the pain
I don't wanna lose this feeling

Eternal Flame - The Bangles

When I'm away from you
The road may be long and tough
But what I want you to do-
I guess you know it too-
Is keep the flame hot enough

FIRE BURNING - THE AVERAGE WHITE BAND

BRAVO PACKZ !!!!!!!    I wish I could say I saw THE AVERAGE WHITE BAND coming but that would be completely false. Even sadder, I have probably heard this song several times as 1979 was the heighth of my disco dancing/dating period when I met my first wife. And luckily, 1979 predates most forms of portable video recording so you'll have to take my word that I was actually dacing at some point in time.

NEXT LYRICS:  This song was on a lot of bootlegs of performances by this artist but wasn't released by a record label until this 1979 collection was released. Not exactly a greatest hits collection, this was more a precursor of the "box sets" that have become so popular these days. And like so many of these collections, it is the previously unmined gems like this song rather than the BIG HITS that justify buying this collection for someone like me that has always believed in the concept that albums have pacing and song placement for a reason.

So here I sit to face that same old fireplace
Getting ready for the same old explosion
Going through my mind
And soon enough the time will tell
About the circus in the wishing well
And someone who will buy and sell for me
Someone who will toll my bell
And I continue to burn ............

Burning of the Midnight Lamp - Jimi Hendrix. There is alsoa reggae version by Living Colour, Fans, did a you see the Crossfire Hurricane HBO documentary on the Rolling Stones. There's some impressive real eary footage, when the Stones were mosty a blues band.

Well, she's black as coal but will burn like a fire
And she wraps herself around you like a well-worn tire.

Island Girl - Elton John

Figure we are still on gun or fire theme.

******* was a bandit, boys
His horse was fast as polished steel
Wore his gun outside his pants
For all the honest world to feel

Hendrix songs are still being released to this day incredibly that have never been heard by most of the general public.  He spent a lot of time in his recording studio which I'm sure his family is grateful for now since they getting flithy rich off these songs being released a little at a time.

I should of went with Fire On The Mountain a while back, lol. May 18th 1980 Mt St Helens eruption was the big one but it was followed by 5 other ash spewing eruptions and one of them in June during a Dead show in Portland, Ore. Portland is much closer to mt st helens than Seattle and the band tried to cut the show short as they knew ash was raining down outside, mixed with with rain, thunder and lightning which surely would make for a dangerous scene for fans leaving the show, getting home. The Dead played Fire On The Mountain that night by no accident surely Cool

Slump,
Awhile back you mentioned that warehouse fire in Chicago.
I had not heard about it until you mentioned it.
I checked out the pictures of that thing and they were amazing! Like an Ice Palace!
Thanks for telling us about it.
