Lewis didn't "cop" a plea.  A plea was offered by a prosecutor and District attorney who knew they hade been overzealous in their pursuit of trying to convict Ray Lewis without enough evidence to provide proof beyond a reasonable doubt.

If he was innocent why take the plea? It doesn't make sense to take a plea bargain for lesser charge if you are innocent.

Actually, it makes perfect sense.  Jails are full of wrongly convicted people.  It's one of the reasons you see convicts being exonerated by DNA evidence 20 years after the crime.

So Ray accepted the plea because he was afraid he'd be wrongfully accused?

His lawyers may have been.  That's why they suggested he take the plea.

If my man-boobs look like cleavage to em, I'm all for it.

That's the spirit.  Equal opportunity cleaveage.

I've never been pulled over by a woman cop.  Hmmmm - sounds kinky.  But, how?

Hey STUPID...he pled guilty to OBSTRUCTION of JUSTICE...for telling everyone in the limo to not speak to the police. He admitted he said it. That's a far cry from DOUBLE MURDER.

Because they were all innocent, no doubt.

At a minimum, Ray was an accomplice to double murders.

The absolute worst is he was an accomplice to self-defense.

Good thing he bought all those knives earlier that same day.  And took the knives with them.  How else could Ray defend himself in a bar?  It's not like he's a 240 pound, 13 time pro-bowler linebacker in the NFL that travels with a posse or anything.

I agree.  And I also believe that anyone who is willing to condemn a man when they don't have all of the facts, or are unwilling to take into consideration facts that are presented that would shed doubt on a mans guilt, is just as pathetic.

People who you would call Ray Lewis apologists are, more than likely, Ravens fans who, at the time of the incident, hung on every story published in an effort to gain as much reliable information possible.

There is little doubt in my mind that Ray Lewis was there.  Ray Lewis was arrested.

What has NEVER, repeat NEVER, been proven is that he was personally involved in any fight,  EVER BOUGHT a knife, or ever stabbed anyone.  These facts are indisputable, they are public record.  This is part of the crux of why the prosecution was forced to plea for a lesser charge.  In light of the way things turned out for the other two defendants, despite Lewis' and many other witness testimony (including friends of the victims),  Lewis would have never been found guilty of murder.

What is also a fact is that members of the victims entourage started the fight when one of them hit one of Lewis' party over the head with a bottle. It is also a fact that a member of the victims party fired shots at the limousine.  These are facts presented in court by eyewitnesses and are public record.

If I thought Ray Lewis was guilty of murder, I would want him behind bars as long as, or longer than, Rae Carruth.

There are some being called apologists that might just believe in taking a hard look at facts and realizing that there is room for reasonable doubt.  This fight could very well have been self defense.

There are others who will say "he was arrested, he is guilty", They will not beleive the judicial system was capable enough to have done its job correctly, fairly and without prejudice.  These people, who are unwilling to look at facts and give any consideration or benefit of doubt are the ones who are truly pathetic.

It's called a plea bargain.  It's used by police to get one criminal to roll over on the other criminals.  Duh.

I know this is shocking, but sometimes informants lie to get themselves off the hook, and send innocent people to prison.  Now, we know Ray wouldn't do that.  In this case, the real killer is still at large, not in prison.

Bsides, how could Ray know who the real killer is anyway?  It was all so confusing.  Sure, Ray bought all those knives earlier that same day, and what a good thing he did.  How else could Ray defend himself in a bar?  It's not like he's a 240 pound, 13 time pro-bowler linebacker in the NFL that travels with a posse or anything.
