Gee, what a surprise -
Yeah....that you are bashing a Ravens player.....and are still a TROLL.

all the Ravens fans that have responded thus far think Ray is the GOAT. Of course, they can't list a reason WHY.
Probably because they all feel that YOU are not worthy of an explanation.

L.T. changed the position forever.
You haven't told us why either.

Dick Butkis is the yardstick by which all others are measured.
Who is Dick Butkis? I have never heard of him.

Both are above Ray - except in the eyes of homer Ravens fans.
Or a TROLL supposed Steeler fan.

Not a single Steelers fan has argued for Jack Ham, or Jack Lambert. We know that Dick and L.T. are better.
Probably because when Steeler fans see that you have posted they leave. They don't want their good name to be linked to you.

bottom line wheather you like it or not is that Ray Lewis is the Greatest linebacker of the modern era. Times have changed and the pace of the game has changed. Ray is still the best.

lewis is the best middle linebacker of all time, is he the best lb of all time? that is close. we hear all this stuff about what ray did or didnt do off the field with that person that was killed. but remember lt fans, he told us himself that he was high on coke on the field, i would say that gave him an advantage but thats not really the point, looking back at there playing days i would take lewis over lt if all things were the same and i knew i would get lewis for the 17 years that he did end up playing!

Well let's look at their individual stats...since Steeler fans believe STATS tell greatness.

Butkus....9 seasons.....
Taylor.....13 seasons.....132.5 sacks......9 INTs....2 TDs
Lewis......17 seasons.....41.5 sacks........31 INTs..3 TDs

Based on stats alone Taylor and Ray are pretty close. But Ray plays in more modern era where the pace of the game is much faster with hurry up offenses and a more pass oriented style.

ADVANTAGE......RAY LEWIS.

I saw Bert Jones play.
So did I.

I saw the Ruston Rifle play while he was at LSU and I watched every home game he played in Baltimore from 1973 until the day he was traded as damaged goods to the LA Rams after the 81 season.

When he was healthy, he could carry a team, and did, during 75, 76 and 77 when the Colts had little more than a good O and D line, and Bert Jones.

The funny part of this whole thing is watching TrnnyTROLL scream and cry that people don't just participate in the topic of the thread...they call her names....but so far TrannyTROLL has managed to call me......FRAUD, A LIAR, A PUPPY, NOT A GOOD FATHER, A JUVENILE, and a HOMER. Sure must be nice to live in a glass house. But so far all we have got out of her/him/it is that she thinks DICK needs a yardstick and LT...well we haven't really heard her explanation as to why LT is better than Ray even though many Ravens fans including myself have haveposted post after post as to why we are saying he is the best.

I still would love to hear her/his/it's explanation as to WHY she believes both DICK and LT are better than Ray Lewis....just something other than "because I said so and if you don't agree with me you are a homer". She stakes claim to......you are a homer because I never saw LT play. Yeah, I saw him play...when the games were on TV in my area. You see TRANNYTROLL doesn't understand about how networks work and how their televison schedules for NFL games work.

I have asked her/him/it many times to back up her accusation that I claimed that LT never won a ring....and I'm still waiting......longer and longer and longer because it was never said and she can't admit it that either I didn't say ot or just the simple fact that she is WRONG.

So be it......let the TROLL be aTROLL and give us all more to laugh at with her posts.

JKWIQ, I'm sure someone can find stats the Ray had that are better than LT's

Finding fault on any level as far as preformance with Ray will be hard to find.

LT may have been a great player in his era...does he stack up as one of the bests....I doubt it

So what are you going to make......some mac and cheese and some fish sticks?

Ray has made a huge impact on the game and the position he plays. There is and never was a player that plays with the intensity that he does or has the motivational skills that he does. Players love to play for and wiith Ray...LTs team mates hated bailing him out of jail.

Bottom line is that all these threads prove is that fans will stand up for their teams players regardless of how stupid they may look. Put any of these players in a different uniform and the tune will change, and you can bank on that. Deny it and you only make yourself look stupider then you already do.

There is and never was a player that plays with the intensity that he does or has the motivational skills that he does.--Ravenmaniac881

I know that was from a couple of days ago and in the context of LT vs Ray Lewis, but don't forget about Mike Singletary. I've seen a lot of folks mention Butkus, which is to be expected, but Singletary fits that mold as well. Butkus, Lewis, and Singletary are handily the top 3 MLBs/ILBs to ever play the game. Butkus was legendary and set the precedent for all future middle/inside linebackers, was one of the most feared tacklers in NFL history, and was much bigger and stronger than almost every LB in his era. Butkus is the Jim Brown of linebackers -- a dominant, punishing, freak of nature that was well ahead of the curve for all other players at their positions in their respective eras.

Comparing LT and Lewis is a little more tricky than the way in which some of you are trivializing it. Just because they're both linebackers doesn't mean they even remotely had similar on-field assignments or even motivational roles -- with the latter stemming from the fact that your Mike or MLB is literally the quarterback of your defense. It'd be like comparing a DE in a 3-4 to one in a 4-3 and saying that the 34 DE is inferior because he doesn't even have close to the same amount of sacks. That's by assignment and scheme.

With all of that said, I'll be one of the few (if only) Steelers fans in this thread to give Ray Ray his due props and wouldn't have a problem with him taking a slight edge on Butkus. That argument would be much more relevant than LT vs Ray and is one that could be argued either way with no fully right or wrong answer. GOAT of the NFL though? No.

JKWIQ...you see, your problem is your are JEALOUS of the sucess the Ravens have had and all the press is following us rather than the Foreskins. In Baltimore fans and the press love the Ravens owner Stephen Bisciotti.....can't say that in DC.....In Baltimore ticket prices haven't gone up in 3 years....can't say that in DC......In Baltimore the owner didn't place a rise in price of tailgating.......can't say that in DC......In Baltimore the owner of the Ravens hasn't banned signs from the stadium for fear of fans blasting him....can't say that in DC. After raising ticket prices and charging more for tailgating Foreskins owner runs out and buys a yacht....Ravnes owner didn't....he already owned one. No wonder foreskin fans are so up in arms concerning anything Ravens......they see how a good owner treats their fans.

Agreed. I know I'm biased here, but I really think Baltimore has one of the classiest organizations in football. We have an owner that takes care of his players, even when it costs him. Look at Suggs. He didn't have to pay him this year. That injury was caused by a basketabll game, and he lied about it. Steve decided to pay him anyway, even when it looked like he wouldn't be able to play this year. He didn't have to pay him at all. Even Houshmanzadeha said he couldn't believe how nice and professional he was treated here. I can't say the same about the Orioles and their jerk of an owner. I can't say the same for Dallas or Washington and their jerk owners (although many people want to worship Jerry Jones for whatever reason despite being the jerk that he is).

I know everyone wants to bash us because of Ray, but that was 13 years ago. He's cleaned his act up since then and done more for the city than Angelos ever has. Two people are dead, and that is a shame. But either prove it was him, or let it go. Were any of us there? No. Were any of us in either of the situations that Rothlisberger was in? No. It's getting old. Find some other way to bash us if you hate us that much.

Ravenmaniac, teams ran the ball more and threw less in L.T.'s era. That explains the interception difference with Ray Lewis.

As far as you saying that L.T. forced no fumbles, I don't know where you got that misinformation, but L.T. is one of the greatest of all time at stripping qbs which ARE fumbles. You might wanna look that one up.
