several? Droop, you are remembering this wrong. Not only where there not several, there was not even 1!! Matter of fact the ONLY criticism given was by ME and it was in refference to how JM's parents punished him for his transgressions. ALL of us understood and understand he is a kid.
Now some questioned whether he deserved a Heisman because the award is suppose to go to young athletes who are great on the field and OFF the field. Was it unfair to question JM's off the field qualifications? No, not any more than it would be to question his on the field qualifications. Which I did because of the weak ass schedule he played. If you focus in on the games against top ranked teams and his regular season #'s were bad, not average, not above average, but bad; for a QB who who won the Heisman.
