And I think both LSU AND Florida prove that in their bowl games.  If both teams had played Big 12 teams in bowl games, I'd be a tad more understanding.

What a joke?  The SEC is down because FLA and LSU lost bowl games to the Big East champ and an ACC co-division champ.  That would have changed if they had played Big 12 teams.  Last time I checked, BOTH FLA and LSU defeated TX AM this year.  That same TX AM team destroyed the BIG 12 co-champ 41-13 in the Cotton Bowl. Just how does that work?

But both of these teams lost to teams from so called weaker conferences.  Is it a trend?  I don't know.  But it is rare for a conference that had two top 10 teams to fail with thier bowl games.   That doesn't happen--one maybe but not two.

The SEC had 6 teams ranked in the top 10 in the final BCS standings.  Now you want to make the case that the SEC is down because 2 of the 6 lost their bowl games?

Once again red, as many have pointed out over and over, a team does NOT make a conference, just as a conference does NOT make a team. You have gone to great lengths to make the case that FLA did not belong ranked where they were and now you want us to believe that it is rare for a conference to fail and win their bowl games, when ranked in the top 10?  Now you try and make the case that it is rare for a top 10 team to lose their bowl game?  Thought the SEC was down this year because 2 of 6 top 10 teams lost their bowl games to teams from "weaker" conferences?LOUIS was the champ from one of the "so called weaker conferences," and FLA was runner-up in the SEC East.  Now all of a sudden you want to use the rankings to make your point.  Figures.

Same with LSU.  CLEM was co-division champ with FLA ST.  LSU finished runner-up to ALA in the SEC West. Given the way LSU lost ought to temper any enthusiasm on your part to try and make your point.  They lost, but one can make the case the coach lost that game, not the players.

By the way, if what you say is true, what does it say about the BIG 12 when BOTH their co-champs got curb stomped in their bowl games?  FLA and LSU were NOT the SEC champ, nor SEC division champs.  Guess the fact OU was ranked 11th negates your whole "rare for a conference that had 2 top 10 teams to fall with their bowl games."  Give me a break.

Considering who they played and the "strength" of the conferences that Louisville & Clemson are from, then yes that is exactly what I am saying.

I believe this thread has absolutely nothing to do with the Big 12 rankings.  You and Gator Lass make quite the pair with your deflection.

So 2 SEC teams ranked in the top 10 LOST to the teams they played and the "stregnth" of the conferences that LOUIS and CLEM are from, is the basis for the SEC being down?

WORKS FOR ME!

That's the point red. You brought up the fact that 2 top 10 SEC teams lost their bowl games.  What does that have to do with the thread topic?  Lass and I did not bring that up you did.  Since the thread was created for me, let me refresh your memory with the original question posed.

How would you describe the Louisville/Florida bowl game?

Talk about deflection.

Nice try.
