A's snag Lowrie, 9er fans still pissedFebruary 12, 2013 1:54 pm
Lowery is a mature 28 & a smart ballplayer. He will add leadership to the infield & the clubhouse....and the trainer's room. This is why the Sox were willing to trade him. He was always a pretty good hitter, but he was always hurt. Same thing with Houston last season. As for Reddick...I posted this a while back on the main board and was laughed at by people that just look at the final stats, but mark my words: Reddick is not a good hitter. He does have power, but the .240 average is real and is likely to be lower. He will likely hit 20-25 Hr's but all of those strikeouts will cost him a lineup spot down the line on a better team. He hit .215 after the All-Star break last season with 12 hr's. His overall numbers were inflated with a 10 Hr month of May. His career average in AAA was .243 and it was .257 in AA. He is nothing the Red Sox will miss. Guys like Jackie Bradley, Bryce Brentz, and Brandon Jacobs all project to be better players than Reddick. This is why he was dealt. Moss is a nothing. If there was a guy that I wish the Red Sox had right now, it would be David Murphy. He would make a nice platoon guy in left and a solid 4th OF that can play CF. if there is a guy the Sox may miss from the Bailey deal, it is Miles Head. Stop crying over guys like Reddick, Moss, and Lowrie. There was a reason these guys were traded. |
