Flauge...are you serious? How is, "I want to have my own path, and I want to start that here in Orlando" the same as "I got a goal, and it's a huge goal, and that's to bring an NBA championship here to Cleveland...and I won't stop until I get it."
first off jefe... im talking to CL not you.   And the quote is this

"I'm not trying to run behind nobody like Shaq or be behind somebody else," Howard said. "[I want to start my own path] and I want people to follow my path and not just follow somebody else's path. I want to have my own path, and I want to start that here in Orlando."

Dwight spefically promises not to be Shaq.   Then becomes Shaq.   He lied to his orginial fan base.   At least Lebron's quote can still be fulfilled.    Lebron could leave Miami in two years go to Cleveland and win one.   Then he fulfilled his quote.. he didnt stop till he got one.   Dwight has already lied.. ship has sailed there.

Also if anybody in the 2000s actually holds athletes to quotes is ridiculous.   What was lebron supposed to say?   "Hey Cleveland and I really want to win one here, but if things dont work out, I may have to leave because management is terrible here."

Yea, lebron is so arrogant.   But Dwight is good.    puff puff pass guys.

"Um, how and when did Howard "become Shaq"??? "

At the FT line.

Shaq was a dominating player that lead teams to championships 3 times as the man and then paved the way for Wade to be able to pull out a 4th one for him.

Howard will never lead any team anywhere. He is a Robin at best.

Okay, now that is truly funny!! 5 stars!!

Howard will never lead any team anywhere. He is a Robin at best.

Honestly, I'm beginning to agree with this and it's very disappointing. I think that some of what Kobe has been doing with Howard has been "tough love" to show him what it's like to be "the man" in a market like Los Angeles and Howard seems to want no part of that kind of pressure.

wonder if Heat fan will be so willing to bow down and worship LeClown if/when he opts out of his current contract? i almost wanna see it happen just to expose the sheer hypocrisy that goes on here...

nope i wont hate him.  An MVP award, 2 Eastern Conference Titles, a Championship... in only 2 years.    I wont be mad at all.  Wish him luck in his career except when he plays Miami.

What I call hypocrisy is calling out lebron for his statement, but being cool with Dwight.   I see you wont even respond to the quote I put up.  Ignore it and hope it will go away?

Lakers2009-

look at Jordans comments... 5 beats one.   that's true.. no one can argue it.   but if were picking who is better kobe or lebron and were going to make championships the most important factor.. let's let both of their careers play out.

right now, kobe has 5.  3 as robin, 2 as batman.  not a shot at him.. just a fact.   kobes resume right now is more impressive.  but lebron and kobe arent done filling out their resumes.   let's have this discussion in 10 years when we can see the whole body of work.

not at all. my response would've pretty much been the same as jefe's. i thought he'd answered the question adequately...

so one wants to have a path, one PROMISES HIS ENTIRE BEING into delivering a title. hm, not all that sure, Flauge...
so dwight says he is not going to be shaq.   a center who was drafted by orlando leads them to the finals, flames out, then shortly leaves town for LA.   Dwight specifically mentions shaq.. and says he is not him.   says he wont do that.  says he wants his path to be in Orlando.   Says all of this while rumors are swirling he is leaving for LA.

then he leaves for LA.

and you dont think he broke his word to his hometown fans... you honestly in your heart believe that?

Every player wants the ring,” Nash said. “We were very close to it many times. Changing teams may be a way. But I don't think I will join another team; I prefer to stay in Phoenix. Hopefully, we can go further next season.”"

let me guess, this Steve Nash lie isnt that big... he didnt promise a title.  the dwight lie is okay too... he didnt promise a title.   keeping your word is only a big deal if you say title.

NOW you're arguing semantics. you tell me if "i don't think" is as definitive as "i won't stop 'til i get it"...

c'mon, Flauge...

so what you're saying is he "cannot have his own path" if he goes to L.A.? and even so he can't forge his own path if he's wearing a Lakers uni? i'll say it again this sounds like a stretch if you ask me...

and where did he promise the fans a darn thing...?
he says he is not going to be shaq.   the center who bolted orlando for LA.  he says this with la rumors swirling all around the orlando center.   "

"i am not going to follow somebody else's path" ... he references shaq... THEN FOLLOWS SHAQ'S PATH...   he wants to start his own path HERE in orlando.

ok, Flauge. let's just say i buy into your argument. but the 2 really don't measure up. i never said the Dwightmare was a good thing. all I'M saying is the guy didn't flat out say "i'm gonna win Orlando a title" like a certain somebody we all know...

has nothing to do with "Lakers blinders", as YOU call it. have i not admitted that there's quite a few players on my team that wouldn't win man of the year awards? trust me when i say i'm honest enough to acknowledge that...

however, his "lie" certainly doesn't measure up to LeClown's, who made it a self serving circus for his own ends...

as far as the game tonight as much as i DESPISE the fact the Heat have really gotten into the heads of OKC. these guys NEVER get beat up like this at home. i think that the Thunder think they just can't beat these guys...

there. that's as much praise as i'll give the arrogant, slimey little barfbags. hope you sycophants and nuthuggers enjoyed...

OKC is still really really young.   Miami is definitely in their head.   Miami is more veteran, they have their number.   OKC time will come, still looks a few years off to me.

Referees did everything in their power to make the game competitive.

But the Heat were just toying with the Thunder even with the insane lopsided officiating in favor of OKC.

They are scary good now and hitting their stride.
